How we verify sellers
Only people who know boards can sell on Surf Trader. Before a seller's first board goes live, we check who they are.
Surf shops
- A real storefront address and business details
- A website, Google listing or social account that matches
Shapers
- Their shaping label or logo
- Photos of boards they've shaped and signed
Pro and sponsored riders
- Confirmation from a sponsor or team, or a public competition record
- Their agreement that they're allowed to sell the boards they list
Boards from private surfers
Private surfers sell by consigning through a verified shop, which inspects the board before it's listed.
What verification doesn't cover
Verification confirms who a seller is. It isn't a guarantee of a board's condition, so always see a board before you pay. If something looks wrong, report the listing and we'll review it.
